Leadership Team:
Senior Pastor: Dr. David Clark
Dr. David Clark provides upbeat messages that are not only inspirational but relevant to everyday life. He doesn’t lecture or preach down to us from a pedestal, but from real life experiences. No one has to feel as if they are on trial or judged. We are a church of grace.
Dave grew up in Council Bluffs, IA. He earned degrees at Westmar College, Yale University and Southern Methodist University. He has served churches in Indianola, Des Moines, Carroll, Paton and Seney, IA and Bethel, Ct. He is married to Rev. Dayna Kinkade, Senior Pastor of the Norwalk Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) http://www.norwalkcc.org/pastors/. He has two daughters: Milissa and Jennifer.
Director of Youth Ministry: Lisa Thurston
Lisa is an awesome leader. She gets our youth excited about faith and finding ways to put faith into practice. She has great teaching skills and has a way of getting youth to live into their potential as God’s children. Lisa works full-time as a teacher at Holy Family School in Des Moines.
Office Manager: Christine Stoffa
Christine has been helping things work smoothly at Ankeny Christian Church since 1984. She handles the administrative elements of the church and helps volunteers. She prefers to work behind the scenes, so there is no picture available here. Come in to see her smiling face.
Music Director: Bob Brown
Bob has been planning and leading the music in our worship services since April 2005. In 2009, this included leading our Praise Team for our contemporary service. He also serves as the director of the Joyful Praise Choir which has about 20 members. Bob works full time as an IT Specialist for Nationwide Insurance.
Pianist, Georgene Raver: Georgene has served as pianist for most regular worship services at Ankeny Christian Church for the past 35 years. She also serves as accompanist for solo and small group special music presented either at the Sunday morning service or at worship services in other locations. Another of her job descriptions in the music ministry is that of Tone Chimes Choir Director. This choir of 10-12 plays during worship three to four times per year
Organ, Cindy Holub: Cindy has been honored to be the organist at Ankeny Christian Church since 1999. Her career began in 1977 in her home church after a year of lessons. Since then, She has played in several denominations, playing both piano and organ. Her job at ACC is to work with the music director at the traditional service by using the organ to lift the congregation in music for the praise and glory of God.
Nursery Director: Julie Garcia
Julie has been a member of ACC for 20 plus years. Julie’s love for children has
lead her to her role as our nursery director at ACC. Her responsibilities include
organizing our nursery to make sure it is staffed for Sunday activities and other special activities
throughout the year.
